II. Main Functions of the Point
(1) Indicate the imbalanced position
During the dynamic balancing test of the knife handle, the imbalance amount and its corresponding location can be detected using a dynamic balancing machine—these specific points are then marked to indicate where the imbalance occurs. For instance, if the test reveals an imbalance in a particular direction, a mark is placed at the exact spot along that axis. Based on this marked position, operators can apply either a weight-reduction or weight-addition method to correct the imbalance effectively.
(II) Auxiliary Correction Operations
For tool holders corrected using the weight-reduction method, the balance mark can indicate where material needs to be removed. Operators can then carefully remove an appropriate amount of material—such as by drilling or milling—in the area corresponding to this mark, effectively counteracting any imbalance. After the knife handle has been used for a period of time, dynamic imbalance may reoccur due to wear, damage, or other factors. In such cases, the balance marks previously applied can serve as a valuable reference for subsequent dynamic balancing tests, helping to quickly identify areas where imbalance might occur and ultimately improving the efficiency of inspection and maintenance efforts.
